WHY AI IS IMPORTENT TODAY

WHAT IS AI ?
Artificial intelligence (AI) is the basis upon which one tries to replicate the workings of human intellect through designing and implementing algorithms in a dynamic computers to think like and act like humans.
Achieving the objective entails three critical components:
Computational systems Data and management Advanced AI algorithms (code) The closer to human like is the desired result, the more data and processing power needed.
WHERE DID AI COME FROM ?
Human fascination with building machines that copy the human brain go at least as far back as the first century BCE. In recent history, the world artificial intelligence was coined in 1955 by John McCarthy. Thus in 1956 McCarthy and others organized a conference titled the The Dartmouth Summer Research Project on Artificial Intelligence. This beginning led to the creation of machine learning, deep learning, predictive analytics, and now to prescriptive analytics. It also gave rise to a whole new field of study, data science.
WHY IS ARTFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IMPORTANT ?
Today the volumes of data by both humans and machines are such that we generate far more than our capacities to absorb, interpret, and make complex decisions from that data. Artificial intelligence forms the foundation for all computer learning and is therefore the future of all complex decision making. For example, almost anyone can memorize not to lose at tic tac toe (noughts and crosses), although the 255,168 possible moves of which 46,080 end in a draw. Fewer would be called checker grand champions, numbering more than 500 quintillion different possible moves. Computers are very effective at computing permutations and combinations to come up with the best choice. The technological underpinnings of this future architecture are built upon AI and its logical extension into machine learning, as well as deep learning.
